God has given all of us gifts and He expects us to use these gifts to help one and other. One of the ways you can use your God given gifts is to be an acolyte. But what does an acolyte do?

An acolyte helps the minister during the worship service. We are starting a new acolyte program at St. John and it is open to any communing member of the church male or female, no matter what age. What will be the duties of our acolytes? Acolytes will light the candles at the beginning of the service and be a communion server, and on special occasions (such as Palm Sunday) be a crucifer for the procession and book bearer for the Gospel reading.

Don’t worry – we’ll teach you what to do! If you would like to serve during the worship service, please contact the church office at 752-3159.
