Some individuals are asking about the status of the altar rail remodeling. First, the plans for the altar are to remove the step up to the altar rail (to prevent falls). In addition, the pulpit and baptismal font will move back to allow the altar rail to extend straight across the front of the sanctuary. The challenge at this point is to find a company that can construct the metal frame for the altar rail. A number of contractors who work with churches were contacted, but have not responded to our requests. At this time, contact with a few local firms should find someone to do the project. Once the rail frame is constructed, the final remodeling should take a couple of weeks.
