“Light of the World”

I have especially noticed the early darkness since the time change a few weeks ago. It makes me much less excited about evening meetings. But I have also noticed the lights that began with Halloween but have continued and increased now with Christmas. Many windows are filled with decorations, houses lit for the season, and yards filled with the brightness of the holidays.

Just as the lights of our decorations bring joy to the holiday season, so too the light of Christ brings joy to the heart of believers. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world.” It is my prayer for you that you know that Light throughout the year, but especially in this season. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it. And may that light be found in you, so that you might bring it to those around you. You are the light of the world. Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.

May you and yours be blessed this holiday season. May you celebrate with joy the Nativity of Our Lord. And may you be filled with light and life which overflows to those around you, bringing the brightness of Christ into the darkness of the world.

Yours in Christ,

Pastor Bond
