Do you like to sew? Do you think that you could complete a simple peasant dress if the materials and directions were included? Could you imagine the expression on the face of the young child when receiving her brand new dress? I am looking for seamstresses willing to share their skills for an orphanage in South Africa.

Jefferson Elementary School has an ongoing partnership with SizaBantwana, a nonprofit organization in Hazyview, which cares for AIDS orphans and vulnerable children. This year, five Jefferson teachers will be traveling to deliver donations in person to SizaBantwana! The dresses are part of a much bigger plan which includes donations for clean water, food, sewing machines and other things. The students are involved as well– I would love to tell you all about it when you pick up a dress(s) project from me beginning Sunday, February 26 after our worship service! I am hoping to complete this project by the end of March. For more information, or to arrange to pick up a kit, call Deb G at 757-0148.
